This year the child's song over the river and through the woods has real meaning. My family is spending the Thanksgiving holiday at My Mother-in-law's house in Brunswick ME. I couldn't visit this visit with out visiting local fly shops. I only have time to visit two so my selected fly shops are reviewed below.

The first stop was in Gardiner ME. I went to Selene's Fly Shop. Selene is a noted Fly Tier, Artist, And Licensed Maine Guide. her shop is filled with Locally Tied flies as well as her tying shop. While is was there she was working on presentation flies That customer's have ordered. Each Shadow box background was hand painted with a scene by Selene. She is a dealer of Thomas and Thomas fly rods. and has a great stock of fishpond goods. I got to pet the new fishpond portable tying bag. Its on my wish list for the holidays so I couldn't just snap it up. Her selection of tying materials can only be described as hand selected by a top tyer. Look Her up and follow her on social media.

Next I visited The emerald city. Not Really But hey, I was 30 minutes away so I had to go absorb the atmosphere at the LL Bean Flagship Store. The main store is undergoing a major renovation and expansion. so it is closed off during construction. To work through this, "Bean" has erected a giant "tent" camp and moved a lot of their retail into "the camp." The rest is spread out through the complex. I visited the fly shop in the outdoors store. This is the same store I bought my First Fly Rod from. (a Quest 5 wt. Rod and reel Combo with case.)

After eating way too much we packed MIL into the car and drove home with Ma in the Car. Holiday traffic meant a 15 hour drive. But we made it safe and sound. now on to the holidays. I will not post in December. so Ill talk to ya next year.
